About Me

KATE WOLSELEY-CHARLES - DESIGNER

I chose Garden Design as my second career after 20 years in public and civil service. I have found this career to inspire me not only creatively, but also logistically, technically, and personally – with my lovely garden design clients. I love creating gardens that are not only beautiful and a pleasure to spend time in, but are also practical, usable, and fit in with busy lifestyles.
I graduated from Pershore College with a Diploma in Garden Design (Distinction) which gave me a great understanding of design principles and horticulture, ornamental plants, soil analysis, construction techniques, and even a little botany. I continue to develop my skills through regular training. The Practical Landscaping Course at Task Academy helped me to better understand the materials I work with.

My love for plants and growing things is matched by my love for tech! I use the latest in 3d design technology to offer cutting edge, realistic fly-through presentations. I am unique in that I will create fully realised 3D concept sketches for you - so you can see exactly what the completed garden will look like.

Sustainable garden design is at the core of everything I do, from the design process to material specification and plant choice. I specialise in designing gardens that are friendly to wildlife whilst minimising general and plastic waste as much as possible.

I am based in Worcester and cover Worcestershire, Herefordshire, and Gloucestershire. I am familiar with the soil types and weather conditions in these areas, and can offer the best possible advice on not only what plants will thrive in your garden, but also what materials will be appropriate for the area.
